The Bullitt County History Museum in Bullitt County, Kentucky is in possession of the exam given to eighth graders in the county in 1912. Remember, eighth grade marked the end of formal education for a lot of people, so what did they know when they left school behind for a life of hard work in rural America?

We’ve drawn and adapted questions from that to see if you can pass eighth grade history today. Remember, none of these questions will include content after 1912; World War I hadn’t even happened yet. Give the quiz a try and share your results with friends to see who comes closest to passing eighth grade not long after the turn of the 20th century.
